Stonelux Block Paving Stain is designed to restore and enhance the appearance of aged block paving, slabs and concrete. Ideal for patios, driveways and walkways, it penetrates porous surfaces to refresh tired outdoor areas with a durable, natural-looking colour enhancement.
Unlike surface coatings that can leave a painted appearance, this translucent stain works with the existing colour, condition and porosity of the paving. The result is a refreshed finish that enhances the original character of the surface rather than covering it completely.
WHY CHOOSE BLOCK PAVING STAIN?
- Quick and convenient application
Block Paving Stain is easy to apply with a brush or roller. Simply clean the area thoroughly, allow the surface to dry, then apply the stain thinly and evenly, working it into the pores of the paving. In normal drying conditions, the surface is walkable after a few hours, although drying times will vary depending on temperature, humidity, surface porosity and the amount applied.
- Natural colour enhancement
This translucent stain enhances the appearance of aged and weathered paving while allowing the original surface character to remain visible. The final colour will vary depending on the existing colour, condition and porosity of the blocks or slabs, so we always recommend testing first in an inconspicuous area.
- Durable outdoor finish
Designed for exterior paving, slabs and concrete, Block Paving Stain provides a durable colour enhancement for porous outdoor surfaces. Due to exposure to weathering and foot traffic, treated areas may require annual maintenance depending on use and conditions.
- Creative designs and effects
Create simple patterns, borders or feature areas by applying different colours to individual blocks. Colours can also be mixed to create alternative shades, allowing you to customise your outdoor space with a more individual finish.
SUITABLE MATERIALS
Suitable for use on porous block paving, slabs and concrete. Not suitable for non-porous or sealed surfaces.
To check porosity, splash water onto the surface. If the water is absorbed and the surface darkens, it is porous. If the water beads or sits on the surface, it is not suitable for use with this product.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Clean area with a pressure washer. Always carry out a trial application in an inconspicuous area to determine the most suitable colour and application method. Mix well before and during use. Apply thinly and evenly using a brush or roller. Ensure that the product penetrates the substrate's pores. Apply evenly and continuously to prevent overlapping.
If a deeper colour is required, wait for the tint to dry before applying a second coat. If a lighter colour is required, prior to application add water to the tint at a maximum ratio of 50:50 (1 part stain to 2 parts water).
LIMITATIONS
Not suitable for non-porous surfaces. To check porosity, splash water onto the substrate. If the water is quickly absorbed and the surface darkens, it is porous. If the water beads, sits on the surface, or is slow to absorb, the surface is not suitable for use with this product.
Do not apply in rain, temperatures below 10ºC, relative humidity above 80% or if exposure to these conditions or frost is likely during the curing time.

Durability and Ease of Maintenance
- Do not clean the surface for 4 weeks after application to ensure the stain has fully hardened and set.
- Due to the exposure to weathering and foot traffic, blocks and slabs may require annual maintenance. Resistant to fading, chipping and peeling.
- Easy to clean with mild detergent and water.
Coverage and Application
- Up to 8 square metres per litre, depending on the porosity of the substrate and the desired depth of colour.
- Apply with brush or roller.
Drying Time
- In normal drying conditions surface is walkable after a few hours.
Availability
- Offered in a range of sizes: 75ml, 1 litre, 2.5 litres, and 5 litres.

- Preparation: Before starting your project, ensure the surface is clean, sound, and dry. If you're working on pre-painted or glossy surfaces, sand them to create a suitable key for the paint. Any damage should be repaired with a suitable filler.
- Application: Stir Brick Coating well before use. Apply using an economy natural bristled brush, foam roller, or spray equipment. Full coverage is typically achieved with three coats. Some original brick shading may be retained with fewer coats, allowing for various aesthetic preferences. Be careful to avoid overspreading and
refrain from over-brushing or rolling. If brush marks remain visible, finish the surface with stippling. Allow 2-3 hours of drying time between each coat. Allow 2-3 hours of drying time between each coat. - Spraying: If you choose to spray the paint, use a minimum nozzle size of 1.8mm. The paint can be diluted with no more than 20% water for spraying applications.
- Finishing: After applying the final coat, ensure that the paint is fully dry before touching or applying any pressure to the surface. The paint should be touch dry before applying subsequent coats.
The final colour of Block Paving Stain depends on the original substrate colour and its porosity. Colours displayed on screen will vary due to the limitations of digital colour representation and individual display settings.
